29 foreign leaders to arrive in Russia for Victory Parade

Leaders of Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Laos, Myanmar, and other countries will attend the celebrations in Moscow on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was reported to journalists by Yury Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President.

India, Indonesia, and South Africa will also be represented by high-level delegations. The Presidential Aide said that a large reception will be held in the Kremlin on 8 May.

Ushakov also told about the schedule of Russian President Vladimir Putin during the celebration. According to him, the head of state will hold talks with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on 7 May. They will sign a treaty on strategic partnership between the countries. On the same day, the Russian leader will meet with the Presidents of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel, Mongolia's Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and the Republic of Congo's Denis Sassou Nguesso.

The next day, 8 May, will see a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in both a narrow and an enlarged format. The two sides will adopt two joint statements on further deepening interstate relations and address the media. After the official part of the talks, they will continue their communication in an informal setting. According to Ushakov, Putin will visit China in late summer-early autumn.

The Presidential Aide also said that on 9 May Putin will hold talks with his counterparts from Brazil, Egypt, and Uzbekistan Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and Shavkat Mirziyoyev respectively.

A day later, on 10 May, the Russian Head of State will meet with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam, who will arrive in Russia on an official visit. Following the results, they will adopt a joint declaration. Negotiations are also scheduled with Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa, and leaders of a number of other countries.

Ushakov noted that on 9 May there will be a welcoming ceremony for delegations of foreign leaders. After that, they will go to Red Square, where the Victory Parade will start at 10 am (GMT+3).
