Brazil publishes sustainable development study for the country's energy sector
Study shows that Brazil has ambitions to become one of the countries with the lowest greenhouse gas emissions in energy production
The Ministry of Mines and Energy and Energy Research Office (EPE) has unveiled the 2034 Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan, which focuses on sustainable development opportunities in the country's energy sector.
According to the study, Brazil aims to be among the countries with the lowest per capita carbon dioxide emissions in the energy sector. This is reported by Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
One of the main strategies outlined in the plan is to maintain the prevalence of renewable energy sources.
It is suggested that, in addition to continuing to bet on clean energy sources such as hydropower, solar and wind power, the country should invest in technological innovations that increase the efficient use of energy resources by expanding opportunities for decarbonisation.
