Brazilian industrial sector makes 36.6% of all cultural investments
Industry has become the main sponsor of creative and cultural projects in Brazil in 2023. This is thanks to the tax incentives provided by the Rouanet law, which incentivise investment in culture. This is reported by Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.
The study found that industry is the main investor in culture, contributing 36.6 per cent of all investments under the Rouanet law.
Creative professions are showing steady growth, with their share of the labour market increasing faster than other sectors. At the same time, salaries in these professions are higher than average, and professionals in the creative industries have a higher level of education than other workers.
Creativity also has a positive impact on the efficiency of companies; sectors utilising the creative economy are characterised by higher value-added growth.
A significant number of new jobs are expected to be created in the creative industries in the coming years (around 25 per cent).
Investing in creativity brings many benefits: it supports and develops a country's culture, stimulates the economy and creates jobs, and contributes to solving social problems and improving the quality of life.
