BRICS youth to present innovations in sustainable development in Cape Town

Participants of BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 will showcase cutting-edge ideas in AI, circular economy, and green technologies

The South African BRICS Youth Association (SABYA) is poised to host the BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 from 10 to 11 April in Cape Town. With the theme “Innovation for the Future: Technology for Sustainability and Social Good,” the event will serve as a platform for emerging leaders from BRICS nations and the wider Global South to present transformative ideas in the fields of sustainability, digital innovation, and socio-economic resilience. TV BRICS will be the international media partner of the event.

“Our collaboration with TV BRICS marks a moment for the summit. It allows us to extend the voices and ideas of young innovators far beyond the walls of the venue. Through this media partnership, we are not only celebrating youth innovation but also globalising it. We are proud to work with a media platform that shares our vision for inclusive development and cooperation across the Global South,” said Raymond Matlala, Founder and Executive Chairman of SABYA.

The summit will be attended by Judith Nemadzinga-Tshabalala, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour of South Africa, Lebogang Zulu, Chairperson of the South African BRICS Women’s Business Alliance, Thandi Moraka, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, and others.

Young entrepreneurs aged 18–35 will present projects during pitch sessions, with winners gaining access to funding opportunities, mentorship, and an invitation to represent their work at global stages such as the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025.

The two-day programme features keynote speeches, high-level panels, interactive workshops, and youth-led innovation pitches. The summit’s thematic tracks will explore:

  • Food Security & Agricultural Resilience

  • Circular Economy

  • Artificial Intelligence for Social Good

  • Digital Transformation for Economic Growth
