Ethiopian Prime Minister inaugurates first phase of Hawasa Corridor development

Hawasa Corridor represents a continuation of the urban development efforts initiated in Addis Ababa

Abiy Ahmed, Ethiopia's Prime Minister, has officially opened the first phase of the Hawasa Corridor development, which he says continues the urban development efforts initiated in Addis Ababa but offers a unique approach.

Features of the new project include wide pavements, dedicated bike lanes and the use of local modern lighting technology, which emphasises innovation and sustainability. This is reported by ENA, a partner of TV BRICS.

"While progress has been made, much remains to be done to complete these transformative projects. As a vast and resource-rich nation," he underscored.

He emphasised that as a vast and resource-rich nation, Ethiopia has enormous potential.

Earlier, Ethiopia's State Minister for Urban and Infrastructure Development, Fenta Dejen, has spotlighted the nation's progress in creating people-centred smart cities through the integration of digital platforms to enhance urban management and service delivery
