Road transport route from China to Vietnam officially opens
The new travel scheme has significantly improved transport efficiency
The first trucks have started travelling along the road route from China's Nanning–Kunming to Vietnam's Hanoi. This is reported by Guancha.cn, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to it, this route passes through the border points of Hekou and Lao Cai. This is the first time Chinese trucks have crossed the border with Vietnam and entered the country's interior under the rules of the Greater Mekong Sub-region's Cross-Border Transport Facilitation Agreement (CBTA).
It is noted that the new transport scheme can reduce travelling time by about a day and cut transport costs by 800-1,000 yuan (about US$130) per vehicle. Transport efficiency has now improved significantly, further facilitating international road transport between China and Vietnam.
