Brazilian tourism is expected to inject about US$24 billion into the economy

Brazilian tourists are expected to inject 148.3 billion reals (US$24 billion) into the country's economy this summer, as announced by the Ministry of Tourism. 

More than a third (35 per cent) of the country's population plans to travel for holidays between December 2024 and February 2025. This is reported by TV Cultura, a partner of TV BRICS.

"Brazilian tourism is experiencing a moment of records and good results for the sector, and the summer season will be crucial for an even more successful 2025," Tourism Minister Celso Sabino said in a statement.

The survey also showed that 97 per cent of travellers chose a national destination where the beach is the main attraction. 

Among the most popular states, Bahia tops the list, followed by Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. 

"The survey helps us to understand which destinations should receive the most tourists during the high season, as well as guide public policy in the right direction," adds the federal government spokesman.
