Egypt and Saudi Arabia outline plans to double trade

Ministers of the two countries discuss mutual investment strategy

Hassan El-Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with Abdulaziz Al-Sukran, Saudi Arabia's Deputy of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Foreign Trade, to discuss strategies to strengthen and develop economic cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.

El-Khatib emphasised that Egypt and Saudi Arabia have strong bilateral relations based on years of cooperation and coordination. He noted the mutual desire and significant opportunities to double the volume of mutual trade and joint investments in the near future. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

He added that the Egyptian-Saudi Joint Commission is a successful example of such committees, keeping up with the tradition of regular meetings for 18 years and playing a key role in strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Al-Sukran insisted that the bilateral relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia are primarily fraternal, reflecting the common social fabric between the peoples of both states.

He pointed out that trade relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia have recently shown unprecedented growth, emphasising the importance of the Egypt-Saudi Joint Commission in achieving integration and mutual coordination in numerous areas of common interest. Work is also underway to expand the scope of this committee.
