India explores investment opportunities in Zimbabwe
The multi-sectoral team met the country's Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga, and government ministers in Harare. This is reported by ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS.
The delegation's visit was a result of Vice President Chiwenga's participation in the India-Africa Business Conclave held in August.
"There are a lot of areas that we have discussed for cooperation such as innovations in agriculture, technology, infrastructure development, healthcare, and solar amongst other renewable energies," the leader of the Indian delegation, Rahul Mutha said.
One of the participants is already considering setting up a training centre in Zimbabwe.
India's Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Bramha Kumar, reiterated the country's commitment to support Zimbabwe's economic growth, emphasising the importance of bilateral relations and historical cooperation.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mangaliso Ndlovu, expressed optimism about the planned investments, noting that the interests of Indian businessmen are aligned with the government's priorities. He noted that agro-processing, pharmaceuticals and agricultural equipment manufacturing were among the sectors under consideration.
