India's gas production record estimated to secure high competitiveness in the energy sector
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi lauded the country's energy field achievement in gas production for the fiscal year of 2023-24, ultimately reflecting the sector's commitment in the national development and to secure India's role as a top competitor in the global market.

The gas production in India for the year of 2020-2021 was 28.7 billion cubic meters (bcm), while for the year 2023-2024, it has been increased to 36.43 bcm. The information was announced by the Indian Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, as reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the data shared by the Ministry, the sector expects upward growth with an estimate of 45.3 bcm of gas production in 2026.
"Under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, India is moving ahead with new energy, new enthusiasm and new resolve. In this connection, the country has further accelerated the pace of self-reliance by creating a new record in the field of gas production", added Puri.
Earlier, the Minister mentioned that India is one the countries with the lowest fuel prices and the only state where prices have decreased in the last 2 to 3 years.
