Republican committee for the BRICS Summit to start its work in Kazan
The authorities of the republic should form an organising committee to be led by the head of Tatarstan, as reported by "Kazanskie Vedomosti".
According to the draft decree published on the anti-corruption expertise portal, the committee will have 44 members.
The newly created structure will be responsible for creating and coordinating the plan of events within the framework of the summit, controlling its implementation and coordinating the coordinated joint work of various structures. The committee's activities include the ability to request data of interest from officials at various levels, forming working groups to find solutions, and other duties.
The leadership of the committee will include Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin, Mayor of the Tatar capital Ilsur Metshin, head of Rustam Minnikhanov's administration Asgat Safarov, as well as a number of other officials.
Meanwhile, the Russian capital hosted the first meeting of the organising committee in preparation for the BRICS summit in 2024 in Kazan. Aleksey Pesoshin said that Kazan will be able to host a number of BRICS events at the highest level.
