The BRICS Political Parties and Civil Society Organisations Forum to be held within the BRICS+ format
The conference is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 19 May 2022 from 19:30-23:00 (Beijing Time). The theme of the event is "Solidarity and cooperation towards common development and a brigher future". This year's event is being held in a BRICS+ format and China, South Africa, India, Russia and Brazil have been invited to participate.
The programme includes an opening ceremony, a plenary session, a briefing on BRICS Partnership for New Industrial Revolution (PartNIR) Innovation Centre by Cui Yonghui and speeches of the Mercosur and ASEAN members: Cambodia, Argentina, Indonesia.
Guo Yezhou, Vice Minister, International Department, Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) & President, China Council for BRICS Think Tank Cooperation (CCBTC) will moderate the conference.
The main purpose of the event is to discuss the international cooperation within the BRICS+ format and to adopt the Joint Statement of proposals of the BRICS political parties, think tanks and civil society organisations forum.
The event will be attended by speakers from China, Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa, such as Chen Zhou, Vice Minister, IDCPC, Ana Garcia, Director of BRICS Policy Center, Vyacheslav Nikonov, Chair of the Board, Russian National Committee on BRICS Research, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Baijayant Jay Panda, National Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Siyabonga Cwele, Ambassador of South Africa to China, as reported by National Committee on BRICS Research, a partner of TV BRICS in Russia.
