The main theme of the third Global Media Congress 2024 was “Shaping Future Media”. The Congress was divided over three days into three main themes that represent current and future trends in the media world: new media standards and trends, media content and digital media challenges.
Topics also varied in different specialisations related to digital communication, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and innovation in the media sector. Specialist sessions covering journalism, radio, television, internet, and social media were also featured at the conference.
Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs. “The UAE believes in the influential role of media in shaping the future and promoting noble values within societies,” he stated.
Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, confirmed that the Global Media Congress (GMC) is a platform to highlight the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the cybersecurity sector, with many sessions and workshops focusing on AI and related technologies.
Mohamed Abdulzaher, CEO, Editor-in-Chief of Artificial Intelligence Journal (AIJRF) in an exclusive commentary with TV BRICS told how artificial intelligence can bring benefits.
“It can be useful for the good journalists, the people who are dealing with AI as a journalist. It will be useful because it gives you multitask in creating different kinds of media in a second. So, it can give you a huge amount of media production, videos, etc. [...] It's something I call the 7G journalism. The journalist can create his own media outlet by himself,” he said.
Global Media Congress took place from 26 to 28 November and became one of the largest platforms for discussing the future of the media sector.
