Global South Media Cooperation Initiative is supported by media outlets from 74 countries

It aims to deepen global interaction

The TV BRICS International Media Network will support the Global South Media Cooperation Initiative for Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind. The project was launched on the margins of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro at an event organised by China Media Group (CMG), a TV BRICS' partner, together with the G20 Youth Summit (Y20) and the the National Secretary for Youth of the General Secretariat of the Brazil's Presidency.

The initiative has already been supported by at least 215 media outlets from 74 countries, as reported by CGTN. The event was attended by about 200 representatives of the media, sports, business, political, and cultural communities from the Global South, including Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, China, and other nations.

Media organisations reached consensus on a number of issues, including harnessing the potential of youth, strengthening South-South ties, promoting North-South dialogue and jointly building a community of shared destiny for humanity.

The initiative aims to deepen global engagement, promote mutually beneficial relationships and create a fair system of international cooperation. The media are designed to become a bridge for disseminating successful examples of cooperation, promote mutual understanding between civilisations, and encourage the active participation of young people in the implementation of projects. Special attention is paid to the promotion of universal values such as peace, equality and freedom in order to create a sustainable and secure future reflecting the interests of all humankind.

TV BRICS is the officially accredited media of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The international media network actively engages with media from the Global South, including leading media from India, Vietnam, China, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Chile, Venezuela, Egypt, and South Africa.
