Indonesia promotes sustainable tourism through ASEAN Tourism Forum 2025

These efforts align with Indonesia's broader goal of promoting quality and sustainable tourism

Indonesia has showcased its innovative tourism strategies at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2025 in Malaysia, presenting groundbreaking initiatives aimed at boosting regional tourism and fostering sustainable practices. This is reported by ANTARA News Agency.

The Ministry of Tourism introduced key programmes including the clean tourism movement, tourism digitalisation under the Tourism 5.0 framework, and the development of special interest attractions. These efforts align with Indonesia's broader goal of promoting quality and sustainable tourism.

Indonesian Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, highlighted the growing potential of the ASEAN market, which brought over 4.3 million visitors to Indonesia in 2024.

A significant milestone achieved at the event was the success of the Wonderful Indonesia Pavilion, which recorded business transactions worth approximately US$2.5 million on the second day of the forum.

With its forward-thinking strategies and regional partnerships, Indonesia continues to strengthen its position as a leading tourism destination in Southeast Asia, driving sustainable growth and fostering closer ties within the ASEAN community, the source claims.
