Iran and Belarus to establish joint scientific cooperation committee in 2025
The parties will expand cooperation in knowledge-based enterprises, startups, and biotechnology
Iran and Belarus have agreed to establish a joint scientific cooperation committee this spring, aiming to enhance collaboration in higher education, research, and advanced technologies. This is reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The decision was finalised during a meeting in Tehran between Dmitry Koltsov, Belarusian Ambassador to Iran, and Farhad Yazdandoost, Chairman of the Centre for International Scientific Cooperation at Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Highlighting the significant advancements of Iran’s private sector in its partnerships with Belarus, Yazdandoost emphasised the necessity of expanding cooperation in knowledge-based enterprises, startups, and biotechnology.
The Iranian official also pointed to past successful engagements, including the visit of a former Iranian Minister of Science to Belarus, reaffirming the commitment of Iran’s leading universities to working with their Belarusian counterparts.
The two sides agreed to convene the first meeting of the joint scientific cooperation committee this spring, with the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology serving as the primary facilitator for academic and research collaborations between institutions in both countries.
