Iran and China sign cultural agreement to deepen collaboration in the arts

Tehran and Beijing have formalised a new step in strengthening cultural ties with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on enhancing cooperation in the arts. The agreement was signed by Majid Shah Hosseini, Head of the Iranian Academy of Arts, and Zhao Qingfu, Chief of the National Academy of Arts of China, during a ceremony in Beijing, as reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The MoU aims to foster artistic collaboration by promoting cultural exchanges and preserving the rich artistic heritage of both nations. It includes a wide range of initiatives, such as policymaking, training of artists, and the translation of scholarly works to increase cross-cultural understanding.

Key objectives outlined in the MoU involve advancing art education and criticism, introducing important books and papers from both countries for translation, and showcasing the diverse artistic legacies of Iranian, Islamic, and Chinese art traditions.

Additionally, the agreement seeks to spotlight prominent cinematic works and organise performances of traditional music from both nations, alongside exhibitions of visual art created by renowned artists.

This cultural pact not only highlights the growing partnership between Iran and China but also underscores their commitment to preserving and promoting their artistic traditions on the global stage.
