Iran holds music event for children with special needs
The second music festival dedicated to children with autism, Down syndrome, and visual impairment was held at the Tehran Conservatory of Music. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
A total of 25 children with different developmental disabilities demonstrated their musical talents.
A special highlight of the festival was the participation of children without disabilities, who performed together with participants with special needs, demonstrating the spirit of inclusion and cooperation.
The organisers of the festival stressed that this initiative is aimed at overcoming stereotypes and demonstrating that children with special needs are no different from others and can be successful in music.
The judges evaluated the performances, not paying attention to the developmental characteristics of the participants but focussing on their musical talent.
