Russian-Chinese Expo to showcase Tambov roly-poly toys for first time
The Russian exhibition area will cover 4,500 square metres
The 10th Russian-Chinese Expo will take place in Harbin from 17 to 21 May, with 16 regions of the Russian Federation taking part. Among the main new features is the premiere of an exclusive series of roly-poly toys from the Tambov Region. This was reported by Dongbeiwang, a partner of TV BRICS.
Moscow will be the guest of honour and, in addition to participating in the exhibition, will host the Moscow–Harbin forum. It will be dedicated to trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation. Elena Serdyukova, Deputy Trade Representative of Russia in China, noted the wide geographical reach of the exhibition’s participants – from the European part of the country to the Pacific coast.
The Russian Export Centre (REC), a partner of TV BRICS, is organising a specialised zone where over 100 companies from more than 40 regions will present agricultural products, cosmetics, everyday goods, and jewellery.
There will be a tasting area: visitors will be able to sample Kamchatka crab and other delicacies, whilst Russian chefs will prepare traditional dishes, including pancakes. Orders will also be available via Chinese marketplaces.
The Russian exhibition in Harbin will also showcase products from 60 Russian brands across 41 regions, organised into four categories: food and snacks, accessories, folk crafts and intangible cultural heritage items, and tableware.
A striking example of creative dialogue between the two countries through high fashion and contemporary art will be the collaborative works of a Chinese clothing brand and a Russian designer. Live broadcasts presenting the goods will be hosted by Chinese bloggers.
In addition to goods, the stands of Russian regions will provide information on vocational education programmes. The country’s leading universities will hold special presentations. These include: Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Far Eastern Federal University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Transbaikal State University, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, and others.
The exhibition is an important trade and industrial platform for partnership, investment, and technology exchange between Russia and China. The event has been held annually since 2014, with the host country alternating each year.
