Territory of Tomorrow contest-festival in Nizhny Novgorod to bring together creators of environmental content from Russia and other countries

The VIII International Ecological TV Festival "Territory of Tomorrow" will host guests from different regions and countries in Nizhny Novgorod on 26-29 June. The event is organised by the Russian BRICS Chairmanship.

The objectives of the contest are to support creative projects on environmental topics, to raise environmental awareness in society, to draw attention to environmental problems, topical legal issues and others.

Journalists, video and radio producers of environmental content, including bloggers, as well as youth creative school and student video studios from Russia and abroad will take part in the contest-festival. They will receive prizes in the nominations "EcoСinema", "EcoReportage", "EcoProject" and others. The nomination of the year is called "Drop of Water", and video works of different genres about careful attitude to water resources will compete for the main award.

Last year the festival gathered works from 31 regions of Russia and 11 other countries. Journalistic discussions, master classes on environmental topics, and an environmental action to release young sterlet into the Volga River were organised for the finalists and guests of the contest.

In 2024, the following are planned:

• master class "Media coverage of current environmental problems and ways to solve them";
• excursion to an environmentally oriented enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod region;
• international environmental conference "Building Common Values. International co-operation as a priority in promoting environmental projects";
• ecological action to release young sterlet into the Volga River;
• an award ceremony for the winners.

The festival has been held since 2017. The founder of the competition is the Autonomous Non-Profit Educational Organisation "Territory of Tomorrow". Among the partners and organisers of the event are the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Legislative Assembly Committee on Ecology and Nature Management, the Ministry of Internal and Regional and Municipal Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and others.

Acceptance of applications and works (to be created between 1 January 2022 and 30 April 2024) for participation in the competition is open from 20 February to 20 May.
