UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to present its clean energy achievements at World Future Energy Summit 2024

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has announced its participation in the upcoming World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2024 to be held in Abu Dhabi from 16-18 April. The government agency intends to showcase the country's progress in the clean energy transition and its ambition to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This is reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

MoEI's Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affair, Sharif Al Olama emphasised the significance of the event as a platform to promote global cooperation in the field of clean energy. There are plans to share experiences with other countries working to diversify energy sources and achieve climate neutrality.

The UAE plans to significantly increase the share of clean energy in its energy mix under its updated Energy Strategy 2050. The outlook includes increasing energy efficiency, tripling renewable energy production and expanding clean energy infrastructure to combat climate change.

The 2050 strategy also presents the National Hydrogen Strategy, which aims to produce low-emission hydrogen. This will enable the country to strengthen its position as a hydrogen producer and supplier, with the aim of increasing production to 15 million tonnes of low-emission hydrogen per year by 2031.

The UAE is confident that its investment in clean energy will ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
