UAE university develops non-invasive blood flow monitoring technology to predict clots

Researchers at the UAE University have developed an advanced non-invasive technology for monitoring blood flow using piezoelectric sensors. This innovation allows for real-time assessment of vital parameters, such as blood velocity and viscosity, without the need for surgical intervention, as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The upgraded version of this technology offers higher accuracy and cost-effectiveness, making it suitable for both hospital and home use. Additionally, the system provides instant data that can help predict blood clot formation, potentially enhancing early detection and prevention strategies.

According to the experts, the project aims to refine existing techniques to improve precision and accessibility for both patients and healthcare professionals. The initiative has provided research training opportunities for undergraduate students, with future plans to integrate artificial intelligence to enhance system capabilities.
