Zimbabwe-China partnership in human resources development boosts skills training and innovation
The collaboration between Zimbabwe and China in human resources development has emerged as a vital force in enhancing skills training and fostering innovation in Zimbabwe. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
A senior Zimbabwean official highlighted this progress during a reception for the China-Zimbabwe Human Resources Development Cooperation held at the Chinese Embassy in Harare.
Apollonia Munzverengwi, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Province, emphasised that the cooperation strengthens bilateral ties and equips Zimbabwe with valuable insights to address developmental challenges.
Recalling her participation in a ministerial workshop on digital agriculture and rural revitalisation in China, Munzverengwi noted the significance of lessons learnt from China’s rural development strategies.
"We learnt a lot, visited smart cities, visited cooperatives, visited a research station, and brought back some ideas that we intend to implement in our provinces," she said.
Over the past year, approximately 700 Zimbabweans from diverse sectors, including education, agriculture, health, the digital economy, and green development, have participated in training programmes in China.
Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding stressed that Zimbabwe’s industrialisation and modernisation goals require a robust talent pool and reaffirmed China’s commitment to deepening cooperation in human resources development.
This partnership underscores the evolving relationship between the two nations, with China playing an active role in equipping Zimbabwe with the expertise and innovation needed to drive its development forward, the source claimed.
