China begins trial production of flying cars

The world’s first factory for mass-producing flying vehicles launches test manufacturing

China has begun trial production at the world’s first factory dedicated to the large-scale manufacture of flying cars with vertical take-off and landing capabilities, according to CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.

The facility has an annual production capacity of up to 10,000 flying modules, with an initial output of around 5,000 units. The first detachable flight module has already been completed and will be used for test flights in the coming months.

Once fully operational, the factory will be able to assemble one flying vehicle every 30 minutes. The design consists of two main components: a six-wheeled ground vehicle serving as the “mother ship”, and a detachable electric aircraft capable of vertical take-off and landing.

The project aims to develop a new generation of transport that combines road and air mobility. More than 5,000 pre-orders have already been received, with mass production and deliveries expected to begin in 2026.
