Egypt earns status as one of world’s most promising tourism destinations for 2026

Award in China highlights growing interest from Asian markets and strengthens Egypt’s international tourism profile

Egypt has been recognised as one of the most promising global tourism destinations for 2026, reflecting rising international demand and increasing confidence in the country’s tourism offering, particularly from Asian markets. This is reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

The award was presented during a tourism event held in Shanghai, where Egypt was honoured with the title "Most Promising Destination 2026". The recognition underscores expectations of sustained growth in visitor numbers and highlights Egypt’s expanding appeal among long-haul travellers.

The accolade comes amid an intensified promotional drive led by national tourism authorities, who recently organised a series of outreach events across several major Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. These cities are among China’s most influential economic and tourism centres and play a key role in shaping outbound travel trends.

The Egyptian delegation held extensive professional meetings with Chinese tour operators and travel industry representatives, focusing on expanding cooperation, increasing inbound tourism flows and developing travel programmes tailored to the preferences of Chinese visitors. Discussions also covered joint promotional campaigns, familiarisation trips and the impact of growing direct air connectivity between the two countries.

The promotional programme also placed strong emphasis on digital outreach, with dedicated discussions on strengthening Egypt’s online presence in the Chinese market through travel booking platforms and digital marketing channels, recognising their growing influence on travel decisions.

Alongside industry meetings, Egyptian representatives engaged with leading Chinese media outlets to outline the country’s tourism development strategy for 2026.
