Egypt’s national team for people with special needs wins World Karate Championship

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated the Egyptian team on the historic achievement

Egypt’s national team for people with special needs has claimed the title of the World Karate Championship, held in Cairo in 2025, following an outstanding performance that reaffirmed its continued dominance in the competition for the third year in a row.

The Middle East News Agency (MENA), a media partner of TV BRICS, reported that Egypt topped the medals table with a total of nine medals, including four gold, one silver, and four bronze, outperforming Italy, which came second.

Egypt secured the gold medals through Abdel Aziz Assem, Fatima Abdel Badi, Ahmed Wahid, and Rawan Khalil in various categories. Marwa Ahmed won the silver medal, while Salma Alaaeldin, Joudy Ashraf, Jana Abdelbadee, and Abdulrahman Ehab added four bronze medals.

In this context, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated the Egyptian team on the historic achievement, expressing his pride in Egypt leading the overall ranking in the championship recently hosted by the country.

BRICS nations continue to achieve sporting success at both regional and international levels, demonstrating their strength across a wide range of global sports and further solidifying their presence on the sporting stage.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS, reported that the UAE national team achieved a major success at the Kickboxing World Championship held in Uzbekistan this year, winning 29 medals in total: seven gold, eleven silver, and eleven bronze.

Brazil also recently secured the bronze medal at the Women’s Volleyball World Championship after a hard-fought 3–2 victory in the Thai capital Bangkok, according to Agencia Brasil.

In a related context, TABNAK, a media partner of TV BRICS, reported that the Iranian Greco-Roman wrestling team concluded its participation in the 2025 World Championship with three medals on the final day of the competition, reaffirming its excellence and securing the championship title deservedly.

At the same time, China won the Women’s Asia Cup in hockey after defeating India 4–1 in the final match, claiming its first continental title in 16 years and securing direct qualification for the 2026 Women’s Hockey World Cup, according to the Global Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
