Iran unveils next-generation skin-friendly nano casts

New orthopaedic solution promises greater comfort, faster recovery, and affordability

An Iranian knowledge-based firm has introduced a new line of orthopaedic casts using advanced nanotechnology. The breakthrough aims to offer a more comfortable, breathable, and skin-friendly alternative to traditional plaster and fibreglass casts, while also significantly reducing healing time. This is reported by Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS.

According to company's CEO Parisa Ganjinia, the innovation includes two key products: one features nano-coated orthopaedic screws and plates designed for deep fractures, improving biocompatibility and integration with the body. The other is a next-generation nano cast for surface fractures, allowing patients to maintain mobility in their daily activities.

Unlike conventional casts that often cause itching and irritation, these new designs are lightweight, hypoallergenic, and highly breathable, enhancing patient experience throughout the recovery process.

Beyond healthcare, the company also sees potential for industrial and construction use, where the nano materials could contribute to strengthening structural components.
