China develops comprehensive industrial base for the intelligent connected vehicle sector
The remarks were made during the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference in Beijing by Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong. This is reported by CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.
The minister said China has taken the lead in global advances in human-machine interaction and has made significant progress in developing technologies such as steering and active suspension.
The country has nearly 400 small and medium-sized enterprises in the ICV sector.
To ensure rapid industrial growth, more than 50 Chinese cities have set aside over 32,000 kilometres of test routes for intelligent connected vehicles and upgraded about 10,000 kilometres of roads with modern technology.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology intends to strengthen the basic capabilities of the sector, promote a new industrial ecosystem, improve infrastructure and optimise the development environment to ensure high-quality and sustainable growth.
