DIFC Sculpture Park 2024 opens in Dubai
DIFC Sculpture Park 2024 features some of the world's most prominent sculptors. Highlights include a special exhibition, featuring two well-known Russian artists, Katya Emelyanova and Marina Baisel. Emelyanova is known for her multimedia installations that explore the aesthetics and dynamics of identity through complex sculptures. Baisel, on the other hand, creates reduced-abstract works combining traditional contemporary techniques.
"Through our concerted efforts, we have been able to bring artists together in the open air in the United Arab Emirates, creating a visual dialogue between different cultures and eras. I invite viewers to not only see but also feel the pulse of the city through the arts," Marina Baisel emphasised.
The event will also feature Azza Al Qubaisi from Abu Dhabi, representing the UAE within the BRICS framework, with her vision of sculpture, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.
DIFC Sculpture Park 2024 will present a selection of monumental sculptures, inviting local and international visitors to explore the synergy between art, and architecture and public space. The event will feature abstract, figurative and kinetic sculptures created from a variety of materials such as metal, stone and mixed media.
"This year's exhibition is a celebration of global art and creativity with works that challenge conventions and invite conversation. It is a testament to the power of art to unite us and inspire change, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to experience this extraordinary exhibition," said DIFC's representative, Saleh Al Akrabi.
The organisers of the event stress that it serves as a platform for intercultural dialogue, bringing together artists, and art lovers from different countries. The exhibition will run from 13 November 2024 to 30 October 2025.
