Egypt enhances textile exports through advanced testing

Enhanced testing and digital processes support the global competitiveness of Egyptian textile products

Egypt is expanding its quality control framework for textiles and garments as part of broader efforts to support export growth and strengthen the country’s position in international markets.

Testing and inspection procedures for textiles, ready-made garments, and technical apparel are being enhanced through the work of the General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC). The system is designed to ensure compliance with international standards and improve the reliability of Egyptian products supplied abroad.

Laboratories are conducting comprehensive examinations of textile and clothing samples. Technical reports are issued within established timeframes, helping streamline quality assurance procedures for goods intended for both domestic distribution and export.

In addition, a dedicated digital platform has been introduced to enable secure electronic exchange of laboratory data. The system facilitates accurate processing of testing information, simplifies documentation procedures, and improves coordination between regulatory authorities and manufacturers.

The strengthened quality assurance framework is expected to support the development of export-oriented sectors with high added value, including ready-made garments and home textiles. According to Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS, experts believe these measures will contribute to the sustainable growth of Egypt’s textile industry and reinforce its presence in global markets.
