Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: we have great interest in partnerships with Chinese regions
He also noted the importance of expanding trade and economic relations
Rustam Minnikhanov, head of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia, told CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS, that China and Russia have significant potential for further co-operation based on their close relationship.
"I am confident this event will be held at a high organisational level," he said.
As for relations between China and Russia, Minnikhanov emphasised that there are great opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the future.
"We have a great interest in partnerships with Chinese regions, and there are great possibilities there. Good relations between the Chinese leader and the Russian leader allow us to build relations with the regions of the People's Republic of China," he added.
The BRICS Summit will be held from October 22 to 24 in Kazan, capital of Russia's Tatarstan Republic.
