India's largest television network TV9 and TV BRICS to jointly promote united BRICS agenda

The co-operation between the parties will allow residents of the South Asian country to receive more up-to-date information about Russia

TV BRICS announces its partnership with India's largest television network – TV9 Network. The partners will interact in the sphere of information exchange and humanitarian co-operation. The respective document was signed by Janna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, and Barun Das, CEO and Managing Director of the TV9 Network.

The agreements reached will allow the people of India to receive even more up-to-date information on the international activities of Russia, which holds the BRICS presidency in 2024, and other BRICS countries. In its turn, TV BRICS will adapt the materials coming from its partners into foreign languages, publish them on its platforms and distribute them through its network, which already includes more than 70 major media outlets from around the world.

"The very concept, the TV BRICS model is unique and I think the media network has made significant progress since its launch. TV BRICS demonstrates and epitomises an approach that is based on the same thing that is at the core of the Indian development path we believe in. India's development path rests on the idea that progress and development cannot be an antagonistic game. In today's world we all need to co-operate, then we all win. I can see that these are the principles and spirit behind TV BRICS, so we are happy to be a part of the media network," said Barun Das.

India's largest television network, TV9 Network, was founded in 2003. It comprises TV9 Bharatvarsh - the undisputed leader among national Hindi news channels - and five regional channels: TV9 Telugu (Telugu language), TV9 Kannada (Kannada language), TV9 Marathi (Marathi language), TV9 Gujarati (Gujarati language) and the new TV9 Bangla (Bengali language). During the coronavirus pandemic, the network undertook a bold expansion campaign and launched TV9 Digital's online platform in national languages, which reached 100 million unique visitors per month in record time and continues to grow. India's first English-language OTT service News9 Plus was launched in 2022.

News9Live, a news portal in English, launched in 2023, which publishes analytical reviews and covers political discourse in the following formats: news, storytelling, discussion.

"TV9 Network is the largest television network in the country and we see it as a strong partner in promoting the Indian agenda globally. Given TV9 Network's extensive presence in its country and impressive growth rate, we are confident that our co-operation will be fruitful and mutually beneficial. The TV9 Network content will enrich the BRICS information space, give it volume, make it more holistic and multifaceted"

Janna Tolstikova CEO of TV BRICS

Today, TV BRICS is actively collaborating with Indian media on content sharing. The network's partners include leading news agencies ANI (Asian News International), IANS (Indo-Asian News Service), Janhit Times news platform, Malai Murasu TV television network and digital resource complex, as well as Trinity Mirror daily newspaper.

The experts of the "Modern Russian" international outreach project, part of TV BRICS, hold annual "Russia-India" teleconferences for students of Indian universities studying the Russian language. The TV BRICS International Media Network provides information support to the International Innovative Film Festival (IIFF) in Bangalore, and also provides films from BRICS countries for screening. In turn, documentaries by Indian directors-partners of TV BRICS regularly participate in Russian film festivals and are popular with the audience.
