Play “La Dueña del Santo” represents the province of San Juan at Argentina's National Theatre Festival

La “Dueña del Santo” (The Saint's Mistress), a production by a theatre company from the Argentine province of San Juan (La Comunidad Katarsis Al Cubo), has been touring for 14 months. The production has now travelled to Catamarca and La Rioja, where it was presented at Argentina's National Theatre Festival, as reported by Ahora San Juan, a partner of TV BRICS.

The story of a saintly girl from a drought-stricken village leaves no one indifferent. Laughter, tears, philosophical depth and the true spirit of San Juan - all this awaits the spectators of the performance.

"Theatre is a collective art, we need an audience, we need an outside view. It's an exchange of projections," says Paula Martin, one of the directors of the production.

The creators of the production emphasise how important teamwork and the involvement of each member of the company in the process of creating and realising the production is.

"The creation of the play was made possible by the passion with which everyone in the group approaches the work," said director Milenka Rupcic.

Argentina's National Theatre Festival takes place in the provinces of La Rioja and Catamarca from 13 to 20 September 2023.
