Trade volume between Egypt and Saudi Arabia reaches US$7.5 billion
The Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported a significant increase in trade between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, reaching US$7.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024, a 33.9 per cent increase compared to US$5.6 billion in the same period of 2023. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the agency, Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia rose to US$2.4 billion in the first quarter of 2024, compared to US$1.9 billion in the same period of 2023, an increase of 26.3 per cent. Imports from Saudi Arabia to Egypt reached US$5.1 billion, compared to US$3.7 billion in 2023, an increase of 37.8 per cent.
The main groups of goods exported from Egypt to Saudi Arabia include copper and its products worth US$459 million, vegetables and fruits worth US$293 million, ready-made garments worth US$128 million, electrical appliances worth US$215 million, and iron and its products worth US$167 million.
In turn, the largest groups of goods imported from Saudi Arabia to Egypt are: fuels, mineral oils and their products worth US$3.4 billion, plastics and their products worth US$984 million, organic chemical products worth US$208 million, aluminium and its products worth US$158 million and paper and pulp worth US$81 million.
