TV BRICS film "Gold" opens the BRICS Documentary Film Festival in Brazil
The annual BRICS Documentary Film Festival held at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA) in Brazil was opened by the TV BRICS documentary film "Gold" (2022).
Editor-in-chief of TV BRICS International Network Ksenia Komissarova is the author of the film. The film was directed by Andrey Porshnyak.
The special project tells how the precious metal is mined, how much effort it takes to get one ingot, and why industrialists need a bear repellent.
Fabio Borges, organiser of the event and lecturer at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA), explained the aims of the event.
"The Research Centre of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), together with the Asia Studies Coordination CEASIA (Coordenadoria de Estudos de Ásia) and the BRICS Observatory Research Centre of the Federal University of Latin American Integration (Observatório dos BRICS da UNILA) held the IV BRICS Film Festival on 4 and 5 December. The programme consisted of a series of discussions on topics addressed in the films of the BRICS member countries. The aim of the festivals is to get to know better the culture of each member country, which will contribute to strengthening international co-operation in the world"

Polina Minaeva, manager of international projects noted that TV BRICS annually takes part in the festival.
"It has already become our tradition. It is pleasant that for the first time TV BRICS films open the festival. It shows the high quality and uniqueness of our works. With the help of the films we can introduce foreign viewers to culture, traditions, technology and life in Russia. All this really arouses genuine interest among the public and the festival organisers, and I am very glad that we have a unique opportunity to tell about it"
