The United Arab Emirates has announced the establishment of the UAE National Orchestra, a landmark initiative reflecting the nation’s commitment to fostering the arts and its role in promoting cultural identity and community cohesion, as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
This project is under the patronage of Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The orchestra will serve as a platform to showcase the UAE’s rich musical heritage while embracing contemporary global music styles. Led by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the UAE National Orchestra, the initiative seeks to nurture local talent and position music as a universal language connecting cultures.
The board of directors includes esteemed figures from the UAE’s cultural and academic sectors, emphasising a collaborative approach to developing the nation’s music scene. Members include government officials, cultural strategists, and renowned artists.
The orchestra plans to hold auditions for musicians and vocalists from diverse artistic backgrounds, offering full-time positions with competitive benefits. Special attention will be given to fostering Emirati musicians, with opportunities available for candidates aged 18 and above.
