Organisers note the growing role of creative industries in the Russian economy

The annual Russian national award ceremony of the Russian Creative Awards 2024 took place in Moscow. TV BRICS acted as an international media partner of the event.

Marina Mongush (Abramova), Director of the ceremony organiser, ANO "Creative Economy", noted the unique nature of the Russian Creative Awards.

More than a thousand projects from the sphere of music and cinema, social and youth policy, development of urban environment and rural areas, and other areas participated in the contest.

In particular, the International Exhibition-Forum "Russia" became the winner in the nomination "Creative Event". The Innopraktika School initiative, which introduces young foreign cultural figures to Russia, was recognised as the educational project of the year. The Krasnoyarsk Territory was recognised as a creative region, while the celebration of Suzdal's 1000th anniversary was awarded as the best project to develop the city.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova spoke about the industry's contribution to the country's development.

"Today, the creative industries are 3.5 per cent of GDP. On the instructions of the head of state, their share should be increased to 6 per cent by 2030. Almost 3.5 million citizens are employed in this sphere, another 3.7 million are self-employed in creative professions. The award is a serious contribution to the development of the creative economy"
