Young artists from 15 countries to perform at the international children's song competition in Kazan
Kazan will host International Televised Children’s Song Competition "Our Generation". TV BRICS is the international media partner of the event, which will take place on 16 November.
Young artists from 15 countries will come to the capital of Tatarstan to take part in the competition: Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Madagascar, Mongolia, Nigeria, Russia, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
The winner will be decided by a jury. The audience will also be able to vote for their favourite performers on the event's website.
The organisers have prepared an educational and cultural programme for the participants. It will include master classes, creative meetings and excursions that will allow Kazan guests to get acquainted with the culture of other countries.
According to Stella Khachanyants, general producer of the competition, the initiative of the event organisers has met with a response and assistance from international partners.
"We were supported by the ministries of the participating countries, ministries of culture and youth, departments of associations for BRICS countries, state TV channels and radio broadcasters," she said.
In turn, Aleksander Alimov, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, noted the symbolism of holding the international competition in Kazan, which recently hosted the XVI BRICS summit.
"I am sure that the number of participants of the association will only grow. It is important that the children's programme is not limited to the stage, the project involves educational, cultural and tourist components. This is pure cultural diplomacy," the spokesman emphasised.
According to him, humanitarian cooperation has become a priority of the Russian foreign policy.
The competition "Our Generation" is held for the second time with the support of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. The event was first held in Moscow in November 2023. The event is organised to support talented children and their creativity, development and promotion of national cultures of the participating countries.
