Brazil and Kenya sign tourism cooperation agreement to promote cultural exchange
The agreement marks a new phase of collaboration aimed at increasing tourist flows
Brazil and Kenya have formalised a strategic partnership to boost sustainable tourism and deepen bilateral cooperation in the travel sector. This is reported by the official website of Brazil's Ministry of Tourism.
Brazil’s Executive Secretary for Tourism, Ana Carla Lopes, representing Tourism Minister Celso Sabino, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi.
Experts believe that the agreement marks a new phase of collaboration aimed at increasing tourist flows, attracting investments, and promoting both countries as international travel destinations.
The initiative outlines joint actions to enhance the tourism experience, including professional training; the promotion of cultural, nature, gastronomic, sports, and accessible tourism; as well as the exchange of experts and participation in international fairs and forums.
The agreement also aligns with Brazil’s efforts to promote cultural tourism through various initiatives. According to the source, the programme reinforces historical and cultural connections with Africa while promoting inclusion and socio-economic opportunities for Afro-descendant communities.
