China approves new principles for environmental protection
The Chinese authorities have developed the basic principles of a new approach to environmental protection.
The relevant document was jointly issued by the General Offices of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) and the State Council. This is reported by China Daily, a partner of TV BRICS.
The new regulations take into account regional specificities and should enforce the necessary norms to protect ecosystems and rationally utilise resources. The country plans to establish a regional environmental management system by 2025, and it should be fully operational by 2035, the guidelines say.
The new environmental protection guidelines consist of 18 detailed algorithms on six aspects, including promoting high-quality development and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
