China launches global language services platform

New programme connects learners, educators and AI technology to transform foreign language education worldwide

China has launched a new global platform to help people around the world learn languages more easily. The platform was introduced at the Forum for the Reform and Development of Foreign Language Education in Higher Education Institutions. The initiative is designed to improve foreign language teaching in universities. It has three main goals: matching language experts with people who need their skills, bringing together educational resources, and researching how to preserve languages.

A representative from China’s Ministry of Education, Liu Peijun, stated that the platform will help build a better language service system and support education, which is key to the country’s growth. As reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS, this project starts a new era of "smart language education," where technology like AI will make learning more personalised and effective.

The meeting, organised by the Beijing University of International Studies and other groups, brought together experts to talk about the future of language education. They discussed how technology and globalisation are changing the way we learn languages and how innovation can help meet global standards.
