India begins development of Bharatiya Anatriksh's first modular space station

The initiative will enable scientific research in microgravity conditions

India is starting the development of the first unit of Bharatiya Anatriksh station. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, termed the decision great news for the space sector. It is an important part of the Gaganyaan programme, which envisages human spaceflight and a national space station. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

The approval of the project means India is moving closer to building its own space station by 2035 and preparing for a manned mission to the moon by 2040.

The programme plans to develop the first module of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS-1) and conduct missions to test the technology needed to build and operate the space station.

Significant investments are being made in the project to ensure the development of critical technologies for long-duration crewed space missions.

The development of a national space station will enable scientific research in microgravity and stimulate innovation in various fields.

The project will also create new jobs in space and related industries.

This landmark decision opens up new opportunities for the country's youth to build careers in science and technology.
