Innovations and scientific achievements of Kazan Federal University to receive media support across BRICS+ information space

Kazan Federal University (KFU) and TV BRICS International Media Network will jointly promote Russia's achievements in science and higher education in BRICS+ countries. On the margins of the International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum", which is taking place in the Republic of Tatarstan, the relevant document on cooperation was solemnly signed by Sergey Prokhorov, Vice-Rector for Administrative Affairs – Chief of Staff of KFU, and Darya Ivankova, Director of the TV BRICS International Cooperation Department.

The cooperation between the partners is aimed at popularising higher education and science in the international media space, strengthening Russia's technological sovereignty, developing cooperation between higher education institutions of BRICS+ countries and forming expert communities. In particular, the TV BRICS International Media Network's channel and UNIVER TV, a popular science TV channel of KFU, have agreed to exchange content. This will allow the UNIVER TV audience, which is more than 4 million potential viewers in the regions of Central Russia and the Volga region, to watch informative and topical programmes exclusively provided by TV BRICS' foreign media partners.

"The partnership between Kazan Federal University and TV BRICS is a mutually beneficial cooperation that opens up new opportunities for the implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting Russian science and education both in the domestic and foreign arenas. We highly appreciate the possibility of mutual exchange of unique TV content between TV BRICS and UNIVER TV, the student popular science TV channel of Kazan Federal University. This step will definitely contribute to the dissemination of objective information about scientific, educational, humanitarian and economic activities of the BRICS members and partners," commented Lenar Safin, Rector of Kazan Federal University.

Kazan Federal University is one of the leading universities in Russia. KFU has more than 53 thousand students, including about 12 thousand foreign citizens. The university has 16 institutes, 260 research and educational laboratories, 79 scientific centres. Kazan Federal University is the coordinator of the only world-class scientific centre in the country on the priority of scientific and technological development "Environmentally Friendly Resource-Saving Energy, Efficient Regional Use of Subsoil and Bio-Resources". KFU branches have been opened in Uzbekistan and Egypt.

CEO of TV BRICS Janna Tolstikova noted that today more than 30 institutions from Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa, and Iran, including members of the BRICS Network University, as well as the Ministry of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba and the Ministry of Education of Cuba are partners of the international media network in the field of science and higher education.

TV BRICS supports many major events organised under the auspices of universities, including the "Cultural Code" Forum of SPbU and the Kostomarov Forum of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (Russia), the Durban University of Technology Postgraduate Forum (South Africa), and the BRICS Documentary Film Festival of the Federal University of Latin American Integration UNILA (Brazil).
