Kyrgyzstan is set to gain expanded access to one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing markets following the ratification of a landmark economic partnership agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as reported by Akchabar, a TV BRICS partner.

The agreement, signed by EAEU and UAE leaders in Minsk on 27 June 2025, aims to deepen trade and economic cooperation by reducing barriers to commerce, simplifying customs procedures and creating new opportunities for exporters across the Eurasian region.

A key feature of the agreement is the elimination of customs duties on a broad range of products, enabling Kyrgyz producers to supply goods to the UAE market under preferential conditions. The measure is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Kyrgyz exports and support the diversification of the country's external trade.

Among the products expected to benefit from duty-free access are lamb, beef, processed meat products, honey, nuts, dried vegetables, fruit juices, and fermented dairy products. These sectors are regarded as important contributors to Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural exports and rural economic development.

The agreement also opens new prospects for the country's manufacturing sector. Textile products, clothing items, packaging materials and selected industrial goods will receive improved access to the Emirati market, creating opportunities for producers seeking to expand their international presence.

Beyond trade in goods, the partnership establishes a framework for cooperation in services, investment and digital commerce. It includes provisions covering technical regulations, product standards, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, customs administration, intellectual property protection, public procurement and competition policy.

Economic analysts note that the agreement could significantly enhance Kyrgyzstan’s integration into international supply chains while supporting export diversification and attracting new investment flows. Improved market access is also expected to stimulate business activity, encourage job creation and contribute to long-term economic growth.

Officials believe the new partnership will strengthen economic cooperation between Eurasia and the Gulf region, creating fresh opportunities for exporters while supporting sustainable trade and investment growth in the years ahead.
