The signing of the declaration concluded the AI Impact Summit 2026 in India
The number of countries and international organisations endorsing the AI Impact Summit Declaration has reached 91, reports IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.
“As of 21 February 2026, 88 countries and international organisations had endorsed the declaration. Since then, three more countries – Bangladesh, Costa Rica, and Guatemala – have joined,” the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India clarified.
The declaration reflects the commitment of countries to use AI for economic growth, social development, and equitable access to technology. The document emphasises strengthening international cooperation, respecting national sovereignty, and promoting AI through accessible means. As Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS, summarises, the declaration draws on Hindu philosophy, including the concept of well-being and happiness for all.
“Reliable digital infrastructure and affordable connectivity are essential conditions for deploying AI and realising its full potential,” the final document published on the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India’s website states.
Vietnam News Agency (VNA), a partner of TV BRICS, notes that the summit served as an important global forum for discussing AI development and governance from a human-centred perspective.
During the event, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi highlighted the protection of children and social values in the digital environment and the need to create mechanisms for such protection. At the same time, the younger generation is assigned a significant role in mastering technologies and new professions linked to innovation.
The AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi brought together senior leaders, politicians, technology experts, and representatives of the innovation community from more than 100 countries.
In particular, the summit included negotiations involving Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Technology of Indonesia Nezar Patria and representatives of major Indian companies to establish cooperation between the two countries in semiconductor assembly, testing, and AI infrastructure, reports ANTARA.
