Russia and Africa to strengthen parliamentary ties
The Russian State Duma (Lower House of Parliament) announced that the Second Russia-Africa International Parliamentary Conference will take place on 19-20 March in Moscow. The event's programme includes rounds of talks on exchanges in the field of science and education, legislative responses to economic challenges, security and experiences of Western neo-colonialism, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
The event will be attended by more than 40 official delegations from most African countries, as well as leading experts to discuss current issues on the international parliamentary agenda with their Russian colleagues.
On 19 March, in the format of a business breakfast, a colloquium will be held with the participation of delegations from the parliaments of African countries and representatives of the Russian business community.
The second day includes a plenary session where the agreements of the International Parliamentary Conference on Russia-Africa in a multipolar world will be presented.
According to the official website of the Russian State Duma, the conference will take place on the eve of the Second Russia-Africa Summit, which will be held in July 2023 in St. Petersburg.
The first international Russia-Africa conference was held in Moscow in 2019. The Russia-Africa Summit was held to discuss the prospects for the development of friendly relations between states in various fields of activity. It was also held to exchange experiences in different fields of industry, as well as to establish joint projects. It was planned to address issues related to global politics and cooperation for future development.
