Saudi Arabia allocates US$800 million to help the underprivileged population
Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered the distribution of more than 3 billion Saudi riyals (US$800 million) to help the privileged categories of the population. The charity initiative is timed to coincide with the holy month of Ramadan. This is reported by Arab News.
500 riyals (US$133) will be allocated for each person, 1,000 (US$266) for heads of families. The funds will be deposited directly into the recipients' bank accounts.
Saudi Arabia's Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi thanked the king for his initiative.
Earlier it was reported that amid the growing number of pilgrims to Mecca and Medina, Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb decided to increase the number of inspections in the hospitality sector, including inspections of hotels and rental apartments.
