UAE non-oil foreign trade reaches record US$527.4 billion in first half of 2026
Historic trade performance reinforces the UAE's position as a global commerce and logistics hub
The United Arab Emirates recorded its strongest-ever non-oil foreign trade performance in the first half of 2026, with total trade reaching AED1.937 trillion (approximately US$527.4 billion), as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a TV BRICS partner.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the record performance reflects the country's long-term strategy to build a competitive and globally connected economy. The UAE also highlighted the role of its expanding network of international economic partnerships in supporting trade growth. Through a series of comprehensive trade agreements concluded with partners across multiple regions, the country has deepened commercial ties with established markets while accelerating economic cooperation with emerging economies.
According to the source, the broad geographical distribution of trade has helped reinforce the stability of the UAE's external sector and enhanced its ability to capture new opportunities in global supply chains.
Officials noted that the country's advanced logistics infrastructure, modern regulatory framework and open investment environment continue to strengthen its competitiveness as a gateway connecting markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The first-half results also indicate that growth is becoming increasingly sustainable, supported by a wider range of trading partners and commodities rather than depending on a limited number of sectors.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to expanding export opportunities, strengthening international trade cooperation and advancing policies that support long-term economic growth, with non-oil trade remaining a central pillar of the UAE's national development strategy.
