Uzbekistan records over 20% growth in foreign trade turnover in 2025

Trade volume reaches US$81.2 billion as exports and imports expand amid stronger external economic ties

Uzbekistan expanded its foreign trade activity in 2025, with total turnover increasing by more than 20 per cent year on year, according to data released by the country’s National Statistics Committee. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Foreign trade turnover reached US$81.2 billion, representing an increase of US$13.9 billion, or 20.7 per cent, compared with the previous year. The figures reflect sustained growth in both exports and imports as Uzbekistan continues to deepen its engagement with international markets.

Exports amounted to US$33.8 billion in 2025, while imports stood at US$47.4 billion, underlining the scale of the country’s external trade flows and its integration into regional and global supply chains.

China remained Uzbekistan’s largest trading partner, accounting for 21.2 per cent of total trade turnover. Russia ranked second with a share of 16 per cent, followed by Kazakhstan at 6.1 per cent, highlighting the importance of both Asian and Eurasian partners in the country’s trade structure.

The latest data point to growing trade momentum and reflect Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy, expand export capacity and strengthen economic cooperation with key international partners, the source claims.
