Belarusian official calls BRICS new political force

Read more in an exclusive commentary for TV BRICS

First Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatisation of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Tkach, speaking on the sidelines of the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia (СIPR) conference, expressed the view that BRICS is becoming a new global political force, and that participation in the partnership with the association opens up opportunities for Belarus to exchange experience and build equal cooperation.

"It is obvious that BRICS is a new political force in the world. We understand that this allows us to comprehensively develop our cooperation – not only to demonstrate our own achievements, but also to learn from existing experience," he said.

Tkach emphasised that this is not the first time the republic has participated in the CIPR conference. He noted that both government officials and the business community are actively participating in the forum.

"The participation of the Republic of Belarus – both at the level of government agencies and on the part of business – allows, on the one hand, to exchange experience, and on the other, to identify problematic issues that hinder full-fledged interaction between our countries in the context of the Union State," he added.

Tkach emphasised that such cooperation benefits not only Russia and Belarus, but also, in particular, the Nizhny Novgorod Region, with which the republic has established close ties.
